After seemingly countless near-misses, it's nice to have a no-doubter.

The Eastern Wyoming College men's basketball team won its first Region IX-North game in dominant fashion wit ha 90-68 blow out of the Northwest College Trappers.

Five Lancers scored in double figures in the 22-point victory. Sophomore Jonatan Arvidsson led the Lancers with 23 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. Sophomore Sam Tiley scored 12 points and was second on the team with six boards. Sophomore Jordan Potts had 11 points and was 3-for-6 from deep. Sophomore Karl Drammeh and freshman Alexander Karras each added 10 points.

Drammeh also punctuated the win with a big block at the rim that sparked a transition bucket and sent the home crowd as well as the Lancer bench into a frenzy.

Sophomore Earl Baker Jr. had eight points, four rebounds and a team-high five steals. Sophomore David Höök added eight points, six rebounds and four assists.

The win snapped a seven-game losing streak during which four losses came by six points or fewer, including two in overtime.

The Lancers return to their home court at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night when they take on Laramie County Community College.

EWC sophomore Jonatan Arvidsson splits a trio of defenders on his way to two of his team-leading 23 points Saturday.
