EWC wins final golf tournament of fall season

The final golf tournament of the fall season was recently hosted by Central Wyoming College in Riverton, WY where the Eastern Wyoming College Lancer Golf Team won with a two-day total of 472.  Because of rain, the second day of the tournament was called after 9 holes.  Otero Junior College was second with a two-day total of 473.  The Lancers won 5 of 6 six tournaments this fall season.

"One of the good things we have done as a team this year is play better the second day of the tournament," said Coach Zach Smith.  "Which is really good because we were down by four strokes after the first day of play on Sunday.  It is exciting for these students to have their fifth consecutive win."

Sophomore Adrian Torres-Ruiz led the Lancer team with a two-day total of 117 (78 – 39) which placed him 4th overall.  Other Lancer scores are listed below.

Arvy Shongwe, freshman, Ezulwini, Swaziland – 81, 37 – 118, tied 5th
Calum Giffen, freshman, Kelty, Scotland – 76, 42 – 118, tied 5th
