Eastern Wyoming College's Ana Djurovic has been named to the Region IX first team All-Region Volleyball Team for the second year in a row.

"I am very happy to receive this honor," Djurovic said. "I wouldn't have been able to accomplish this without my teammates and my coach.

Djurovic, a sophomore from Belgrade, Serbia led the Lancers in kills and points this year.

"I think Ana being named to the first team is a well-deserved honor," Lancer volleyball coach George Hamilton said. "Ana is a great player. She is our go to person. When we needed a point, she was the one we turned to."

The Lancer outside hitter averaged 4.4 points per set. She averaged 3.68 kills per set, and 3.51 digs per set.

The All Region team is made up of the top 16 players in the region, eight on the first team and eighth on the second team, according to the volleyball coaches in the region.

"Two years in a row shows the progress I have made and the progress we have made as a program," Djurovic said.

The Lancers finished the season with a 10-21 record. Djurovic plans to continue playing in the states next season.
