The Eastern Wyoming College Lancers traveled to Laramie, Wyoming for the Laramie River Rendezvous recently for the final rodeo of the 23-24 season.
EWC cowboys Bridger Amiotte and Taydon Gorsuch went 1 and 2 in the long round of the weekend. Amiotte, a Wall, South Dakota native finished with a time of 4.2 and 7.1 to finish in the average 4th. Gorsuch of Gering, Nebraska had a 4.3 second run the long go and ended his weekend 8th.
In the tie-down, Rozet, Wyoming native, Coy Thar, finished third in the average for the weekend with two runs of 10.6 and 12.1. Freshman Weston Klatt of Dickinson, North Dakota came into the short go with a 11.3 second run and finished 5thin the average with a 16.6 second run.
Two EWC teams made it back in the team roping this weekend. Edgar Aguilar of Greeley, Colorado and Colton Zimmerman of Nunn, Co came into the short go with a 5.4 second run and finished their weekend 6th. Carter Anderson of Merriman, Nebraska and Seth Glass of Central City, Nebraska finished their weekend 7th in the average with a time of 7.6 seconds in the long go.
RaeLee Caldwell, of Gillette, Wyoming will be headed to the CNFR representing the Lancers in the goat tying event. RaeLee finished out her year reserve regional goat tying champion and will be competing in Casper for the national goat tying championship in June.
