Off the bench, Vukasin Spasojevic made a significant impact, contributing 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

With 18 seconds left in regulation, Western Wyoming tied the game at 79 after converting two free throws. Following an EWC timeout, Javier Gonzalez had a last-second attempt to seal the win but his contested shot fell short, sending the game into overtime.

In the extra period, Spasojevic delivered a pivotal defensive stop with a clutch block, leading to an Nziza three-pointer that put the Lancers ahead for good. Two possessions later, Gonzalez drained another three-pointer to extend the lead to five. With just over a minute remaining, Spasojevic tipped in a Nziza miss, keeping Western Wyoming at bay. Jouk Mayan secured a crucial defensive rebound with seven seconds left and iced the game with two free throws, sealing the 89-84 victory.

“We came out strong, defended well, and showed toughness down the stretch,” EWC head coach Bill  Engel said. “Our guys have been competing all season, and tonight we proved we could finish.”

The Lancers will look to build on this momentum as they prepare for their next matchup.
