
TORRINGTON, Wyo. - Eastern Wyoming College (EWC) Rodeo is pleased to announce that Alyssa Salazar, a standout athlete from Gill, Colorado, has signed to compete on the Lancer Rodeo Team for the Fall 2025 season.
Salazar, a graduate of Platte Valley High School, will compete in breakaway roping and team roping. In addition to her rodeo pursuits, Salazar will be studying cosmetology at EWC, where she is eager to develop both her academic and athletic skills.
"I chose EWC for the cosmetology program and the opportunity to participate in collegiate rodeo under Coach Whit Peterson," Salazar said. "The college has everything I'm looking for, and I'm excited to be a part of such a supportive environment."
EWC Rodeo Coach Whit Peterson is excited to have Salazar join the team and looks forward to watching her grow as an athlete and a student.
"Alyssa is an excellent addition to our team," Peterson said. "She's a talented and driven athlete, and her dedication to both rodeo and academics is exactly what we look for in our student-athletes. I'm excited to see what she will accomplish both in the arena and in the classroom."
Salazar is excited about her future with EWC Rodeo and looks forward to representing the Lancers in both her academic and athletic endeavors.
