TORRINGTON, Wyo. - Olive Osmera, a standout athlete from Torrington High School, has signed a letter of intent to play both basketball and volleyball at Eastern Wyoming College (EWC) starting in the 2025-2026 academic year. Osmera, who will graduate in May, is a four-year letterwinner in volleyball and a three-year letterwinner in basketball.
Throughout her high school career, Osmera earned numerous accolades, including the 2023 and 2024 3A East Volleyball All Conference and All State awards. Her dedication to her sports and leadership abilities were also recognized as she was involved in multiple school organizations, such as the National Honor Society, Student Council, and the WHSAA Student Advisory Council.
“I’m thrilled to have Olive join our team,” said Tim Larsen, head coach of the Eastern Wyoming College women’s basketball team. “Her work ethic and versatility on the court will be invaluable. We are excited to watch her grow both as an athlete and as a leader. She brings so much to the table, and I know she will have an immediate impact on our program.”
In addition to her success in volleyball and basketball, Osmera plans to pursue a degree in Physical Education at EWC. Her decision to attend the college was motivated by its welcoming atmosphere and the support she felt from the coaches and community during her visit.
“I chose EWC because of the welcoming team and coaches,” Osmera said. “When I visited, I loved how supportive everyone was. I’ve been in Torrington my whole life, and the community around the college made it feel like the perfect place for me. I’m so excited for what’s ahead.”
George Hamilton, head coach of the EWC volleyball team, also shared his excitement about Osmera’s commitment.
“Olive is a fantastic player who has proven herself at the highest level of high school volleyball,” Hamilton said. “We’re looking forward to having her join our team, not only for her athletic talent but also for her leadership and positive attitude. She’s going to do great things here.”
Osmera will continue her academic and athletic journey at Eastern Wyoming College in the fall, where she will play both basketball and volleyball while pursuing her major in Physical Education.
