Men split final games of 2019

The Eastern Wyoming College men's basketball team dropped a road game to Western Nebraska before finishing off the fall semester with a win over the Sports Axis All-Star team at home.

Three Lancers scored in double digits in the 82-69 losing effort against the Cougars on Dec. 9. Sophomore David Hook led EWC with 13 points, while sophomores Jordan Potts and Sam Tiley each scored 12. 

Sophomore Jonatan Arvidsson added nine points while leading EWC in rebounds (eight) and assists (five).

Freshman Curtis Fornchar scored eight points and grabbed seven rebounds. Sophomore Earl Baker Jr. also tallied eight points against WNCC.

Only seven Lancers played in a 126-61 rout of Sports Axis. 

Fornchar led the Lancers with 27 points and 18 rebounds. Nick Mirich and Alexander Karras scored 22 points each. Karras also had 10 rebounds and seven assists. Christ Theodor had 19 points and six rebounds. Jeremi Jiba added 16 points. Jonathan Hall had 12 points and eight rebounds. Carter Berish scored eight points and led with 14 assists. 

Eastern returns to the court on Jan. 4 at Northwest Kansas Tech JV.
