A buzzer-beater at the end of regulation gave the Lancers new life, but Eastern Wyoming College's men's basketball team fell 74-68 in overtime to the Sheridan Generals on Wednesday night.
Sophomore Jordan Potts hit a 3-pointer from the right wing, a shot created by a steal and one-touch pass from freshman Carter Berish, to tie the game at 67-67 after 40 minutes.
The Lancers led 60-53 with 9:25 left to play in the second half when the offense went cold. EWC scored just four points between a Berish three at 9:25 and Potts' last-second swish.
Berish led the Lancers with 17 points thanks to five made 3-pointers. Freshman Sam Tiley and Sophomore Jonathan Hall each scored 12 points.
Sophomore forward David Hook led EWC with seven rebounds with Hall and Berish each had five.
The Lancers (9-6, 0-1 Region IX-North) play at Northwest College in Powell on Saturday.
