Men's basketball edged by Gillette at home

The Eastern Wyoming College men's team lost 73-72 to Gillette College on Wednesday night.

The Lancers (10-8 overall, 0-3 Region IX-North) made a hard-fought second-half comeback in front of their home crowd after the Pronghorns hit nine 3-pointers in the first half on their way to a 40-29 halftime lead.

Entering the game, Gillette (15-2, 1-2 Region IX-North) was receiving votes in the latest national poll.

Jordan Potts led the Lancers with 15 points, followed by 13 from Jonatan Arvidsson and 13 from Karl Drammeh

Freshman Alexander Karras hit a corner three at the first-half buzzer to cut the Pronghorn lead to 11 at the break. Karras finished with eight points and four rebounds.

Sophomore Sam Tiley scored nine points and had a team-high six rebounds.

Sophomore Earl Baker scored 10 points, had five rebounds and had all four of Eastern's steals.

The men will fight for its first sub-region win when they host Central Wyoming at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
