Lancers knock off No. 11 Western Wyoming

The Eastern Wyoming College men's basketball team continued its late-season surge with a win over No. 11 Western Wyoming on Saturday.

The Lancers (14-14 overall, 3-9 in Region IX-North) won 77-72 against Region IX's highest-ranked team on sophomore night, their final regular-season home game.

Sophomore Jeremi Jiba led the way with 17 points on 5-for-8 3-point shooting. He also grabbed two rebounds and punctuated his defensive effort with a huge chase-down block.

Sophomore David Höök also had 17 points, with eight rebounds and three assists. Sophomores Jonatan Arvidsson and Sam Tiley scored in double-digits as well with 14 annd 10 points, respectively. Arvidsson led the Lancers with 10 rebounds and also two steals. Freshman Carter Berish added eight points and Curtis Fornchor had six points.

The Lancers finish the regular season with road games at Laramie County on Wednesday and at Gillette on Saturday.
