EWC golfers win Lamar tournament

The Eastern Wyoming College Lancer Golf Team just returned from the Lamar, Colorado golf tournament with their fourth straight win of this fall season.  The team posted a two-day total of 612, just 3 strokes ahead of second place McCook Community College at 615.

"I am happy that we won our 4th consecutive tourney.  It's not easy to start out winning the first 4 tournaments but the guys have found a way to do it.  I am extremely proud of them and the way they face challenges head on," shared Coach Zach Smith.  "We have two more tournaments this fall but we have already placed ourselves in a good position heading into the spring season."

Individual scores for the Lancers were as follows:

Logan Harrison, sophomore, Cheyenne, WY – 153, tied 4th
Adrian Torres, freshman, Madrid, Spain – 153, tied 4th
Eric Lovell, freshman, Greeley, CO – 154, tied 6th
Ryder Velasquez, freshman, South Ogden, UT – 154, tied 6th
Denton Shaw, freshman, Lusk, WY – 164

The Lancers will travel to LaJunta, Colorado to compete in the Otero Junior College hosted tournament on September 24-25.
