The Eastern Wyoming College Lancer golf team recently returned from Lamar, Colorado where they won the two-day tournament with a total score of 588. That was 23 strokes better than second place Lamar Community College who had a two-day total of 611.

Leading the Lancers was sophomore golfer Adrian Torres-Ruiz, Madrid, Spain, who shot a 70, 72 for a two-day total of 142.

"The guys got off to a great start on Thursday in some really great weather at Lamar to take a solid lead going into Friday," stated Coach Zach Smith. "I was thrilled for Adrian after he won the tournament because he had struggled the first couple of weeks during qualifying but our entire team knew he would get it figured out and start playing the golf we all know he is capable of playing. I was excited to leave the Lamar golf tournament with our second straight team and individual win and we are looking forward to our home tournament this week."
