EWC golfers win NJC tournament

Leading the Lancers was freshman Harry Walch, Staines, England with a two-day total of 142, shooting 71 each day.

The Eastern Wyoming College Lancer Golf team won the team title at the NJC tournament held in Sterling, CO.  The Lancers had a team score of 583.  The second place team was Otero Community College with a score of 610.

Arvy Shongwe, freshman, Ezulwini, Swaziland – 72-74 for 146, 3rd

Denton Shaw, sophomore, Lusk, WY – 73-74 for 147, tied 4th

Adrian Torres-Ruiz, sophomore, Madrid, Spain – 73-75 for 148, tied 7th

Jared Pilkington, freshman, Scottsbluff, NE – 76-77 for 153, tied 11th

"Our guys played great both days this week.  It was fun to see everyone play well as a team in consecutive days," said Coach Zach Smith.  "This is Harry's second straight win and I think the team is really hitting their stride at the right time.  I am excited to see how they play at our home tournament this week."

The Lancers host tournament this week with play at the Cottonwood Golf Course on the 20th and 21st.
