EWC finishes second at CWC tournament

Eastern Wyoming College Golf Team @ Central Wyoming College Tournament

The Eastern Wyoming College Lancer Golf team recently returned from a tournament hosted by Central Wyoming College, held in Riverton, WY.  Due to the weather, the second day of the tournament was canceled.  The Lancers had a one-day total of 315, placing them second behind McCook, who finished with 310.

"The guys were anxious to play on Friday to see if we could reel McCook back in but, unfortunately the weather made the course too wet to play," shared Coach Zach Smith. "I was pleased with our players because they were the first team out practicing and get ready to play Friday, even when the conditions were poor. We are excited and ready to travel to Sterling, CO this week for our third tournament."

Freshman Malosi Togisala, Ogden, UT, led the Lancers with a score of 76, which placed him tied for 3rd.  Other Lancer scores were as follows:

Gonzalo Arcelay Fernadez-Meras, freshman, Munguia, Spain – 77, tied 5th
George Elliott, freshman, Salisbury, United Kingdom – 80, tied 10th
Kash Kaufman, freshman, Torrington, WY – 82, tied 15th
Trey Massey, freshman, Lander, WY – 82, tied 15th

The Lancers will travel to Sterling, CO, September 21-22 to compete at the tournament hosted by Northeastern Junior College.
