Eastern Wyoming College freshman golf team member Kash Kaufman, Torrington, WY, started the spring golf season out right with a split for 1st place at the Otero Junior College tournament. Kaufman led the Lancers with a two-day score of 111. He shot at 70 in round one and a 41 in round two. Round two was called after 9 holes because of the wind.

"We didn't get the team results we had hoped for at this tournament but we are already preparing to turn that around at the next tournament. The competition is tough and we need to be prepared for that."
