The Eastern Wyoming College Lancer golf team won the Northeastern Junior College tournament held April 4-5 with a score of 563. McCook Community College was second with 597.

"The team continued with the momentum from the win at the Blue River Classic and shot the lowest team total in my time coaching," said Coach Zach Smith. "They played great on Thursday to jump out to a 15 stroke lead by on Friday they played the best golf I've seen during my time here. Four players shot under par the second day, including Harry shooting 8 under on this two-day total to pull away from the field. George, Gonzalo, and JoVin also played well Friday to contribute to the 14 under par team total. This was a very special week for Lancer Golf."

Leading the Lancers was sophomore Harry Walch, Staines, England, with scores of 67, 69 for a two-day total of 136. Other Lancers scores were as follows:

George Elliott, sophomore, Salisbury, England, 70, 69 – 139, 2nd

JoVin Tan, freshman, Taiping, Malaysia, 74, 71 – 145, tied 4th

Gonzalo Arcelay, sophomore, Munguia, Spain, 78, 68 – 146, tied 6th

RJ Moya, freshman, Three Rivers, Texas, 75, 76 – 151, tied 10th

Due to the pending weather forecast in Torrington, the Lancers home tournament has been moved to April 25-26. The Lancers will travel to LaJunta, CO April 11-12 for the Otero Junior College Tournament.
