The Eastern Wyoming College women's basketball team lost 72-66 at Northeastern Junior College to begin the spring half of the 2019-20 season.

A slow start netted the Lancers (7-7) only eight first-quarter points, putting EWC in a hole that a 28-point four-quarter explosion couldn't overcome. 

Ana Esnal Aguire led all scorers with 21 points and also had a game-high seven assists. Paula Marknez Sanz added 17 points and five rebounds. 

The Lancers hope they shook the last of their rust off in Sterling as sub-region play begins at Sheridan on Wednesday evening.
