After two years as a Lancer, Monika Brcina will be a Lion next season as the Eastern Wyoming College sophomore signed to play for Multnomah University in Portland, Oregon.

"I'm excited to go to Portland," Brcina said. "It is a good opportunity for me to continue my basketball and academic career."

Brcina was recruited by four different schools, but chose Multnomah where she will major in accounting.

"She's worked so hard all year to put herself into an opportunity like this," EWC head women's basketball coach Tim Larsen said.

The 5'11' forward from Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina was a standout the last two years for the Lancers.

"I'm really grateful for this opportunity, my coaches and my teammates," Brcina said. "I am very happy to have spent the last two years in Torrington and to be graduating from EWC."
