Lancer men’s team second in region

The Eastern Wyoming College rodeo team recently traveled to Sheridan, WY to compete in the annual Sheridan College Rodeo.

"Some things didn't go our way for the men's team but we are still in the top two in the regional standings," shared Coach Jake Clark.  "I am very proud of how our women's team completed the weekend."

In the steer wrestling, sophomore AJ Freeman, Dunning, NE was third in the average while teammate Danny Manning, sophomore, Hemingford, NE, was 4th.  Their times on two steers were 12.3 and 13.8 seconds respectively.

Sophomore Cody Lane, Torrington, WY, was 4th in the average in the tie down roping with a total time of 24.5 seconds on two.

Team roping duo of Riley Curuchet, freshmen, Kaycee, WY and Denton Shaw, freshman, Lusk, WY, placed in the first round of the team roping with a time of 7.1 seconds and qualified for the short round.

Freshmen Jamie Thompson, Lusk, WY and Ballie Mutchler, Whitewood, SD each qualified for the short round in the goat tying.

In the breakaway roping, sophomore Rylee Rutton, Colome, SD, placed in the first round and qualified for the short round.

The Lancer rodeo team will travel to the Lamar Community College rodeo in Colorado October 2-4.
