EWC competes at Lamar Community College Rodeo

The Eastern Wyoming College Lancer Rodeo team recently traveled to Lamar, CO to compete in the annual rodeo hosted by Lamar Community College.  This was the third rodeo of the fall season for the Lancer athletes.

Torrington team ropers Cody Lane, sophomore and partner Chance Lane, freshman, Torrington, WY, won fourth in the average with a total time of 16.1 seconds on two steers.  Tyus Olsen, sophomore, Mud Butte, SD and partner Brooke Howell, Gillette College, won the first round of the team roping with a time of 5.5 seconds.  Freshman Bryer Wadhams, Pueblo, CO and partner Trevor Schnaufer, sophomore, Pueblo, CO qualified for the short round.

In the steer wrestling, sophomore Danny Manning, Hemingford, NE, was second in the first round with a time of 5.6 seconds.  He finished the weekend 8th in the average.  Teammate Caden Packer, sophomore, Sturgis, SD, qualified for the short round.

Freshman Kyle Chapman, Rock Springs, WY, qualified for the short round in the bareback riding.

In the goat tying, sophomore Jamie Thompson, Lusk, WY, split 3rd/4th/5th in the first round with a time of 7.9 seconds.  She finished the weekend 5th in the average.

Sophomore Baillie Mutchler, Whitewood, SD, was 6th in the short round of the barrel racing.

The Lancers will compete in Riverton, WY, October 7-9 for the Central Wyoming College rodeo.
