Eastern Wyoming College Rodeo Team @ Chadron State College Rodeo

The fall rodeo season kicked off this past weekend in Chadron and the Lancer Rodeo team had a good showing.  The EWC ladies placed second as a team with a total of 205 points.

"We have room for improvement but overall we are off to a great start," said Coach Jake Clark.  "The women's team looks very competitive and our men's team is full of talent. I'm looking forward the rest of the fall season."

Leading the ladies team was freshman Jacey Thompson, Torrington, WY.  She won the goat tying competition with a total time of 14.3 seconds in two rounds.  Teammate Karissa Rayhill, Martin, SD, was 2nd in the first round of competition and finished 7th in the average.

In the team roping, the sophomore team of Bryer Wadhams and Trevor Schnaufer, both from Pueblo, CO, won third in the average for the weekend and won the short round with a time of 5.9 seconds.  Teammates Canton Afdahl and Logan Milligan, both from Torrington, won 4th in the first round.  Thompson and partner Carson Good, Chadron State College, qualified for the short round.

The Lancer Rodeo team will compete September 22-24 at the Sheridan College Rodeo in Sheridan, WY.
