Lancer Rodeo team finishes fall season

EWC Lancer Rodeo at Lamar Community College Rodeo Results

The Lancer Rodeo team travelled to Lamar, Colorado to compete at the Lamar College Sand and Sage Rodeo.

Six student athletes represented Eastern Wyoming College in the short round Sunday.

Three Lancers came back in the tie-down roping. Carter Anderson, freshman, Merriman, NE, was second in the average. Colton Zimmerman, sophomore, a Nunn, CO native, competed in his first tie down short go this season and ended fifth in the average. Minatare, NE native, sophomore, Trace Travnicek ended his short round Sunday ninth in the average.

Freshman Taydon Gorsuch, of Gering Nebraska, competed in his first short round of the fall season and ended his weekend fifth in the average for the steer wrestling.

In the team roping, Coy Thar sophomore, Rozet, WY, and his team roping partner of Gillette College came back seventh in the long round and ended their weekend eighth in the average.

Camryn Kocian, freshman, Brainard, NE made it back in the barrels for short round Sunday and ended her weekend fifth in the average.

"I'm very proud of what our team has accomplished this fall," Lancer Rodeo Coach Whit Peterson said. "These kids work hard every day and we continue to get better each week. I'm excited for the spring season."

The Men's Team ended their weekend third in the average and seventh overall in the region. The Women's Team has ended the fall season third in the regional standings. Lancers have 8 team members in the Top 15 standings.
